National Australia Bank udvider AWS-samarbejdet med "multimillion dollar" cloud-aftale

National Australia Bank (NAB) har udvidet sit samarbejde med Amazon Web Services (AWS) og underskrevet en ny "multimillion dollar" langsigtet cloud-aftale.

Banken, som nu har arbejdet med AWS siden 2013, siger, at flytningen er en del af dens "ambitiøse multi-cloud-tilgang" og vil gøre det muligt for firmaet at "accelerere migreringen af ​​vigtige kritiske arbejdsbelastninger til AWS".

Aftalen vil også se, at NAB implementerer nye AWS-tjenester såsom AWS Graviton for at hjælpe med at øge cloud-ydeevnen. Banken er også i øjeblikket i gang med at udrulle AWS' cloud-kontaktcenter, der tilbyder Amazon Connect.

NAB group executive technology and enterprise operations, Patrick Wright, says: “The cloud is now ingrained at NAB. Our Simple Home Loans, internet banking, NAB Connect online business platform, and recently launched NAB Now Pay Later product are just some of our customer services being enabled by the cloud.”

The bank says it has now moved 70% of its applications to the cloud and recently became the first major Australian bank to migrate its online business banking platform.

It also claims that by utilising AWS’s tech, it has implemented a programme “to save over $1 million per month in cloud costs”.
