Bitcoin (BTC) broke below $37,000 during trading on June 18 in the latest short-term bearish sign for hodlers.

Buyers no match for BTC bears

Altcoins respond badly to fresh downtick

Altcoins meanwhile felt the pinch from Bitcoin’s troubles, with many of the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market cap seeing 6% daily losses or more.

Eeter (ETH) was below $2,250 at the time of writing, down 6.6% on the day, while Flexa’s AMP, previously the standout high flyer, was the day’s worst performer with 23% losses.

“Some of these altcoins look ready to lose another 50%,” Twitter accountTyler Durden ütles in a grim market prognosis.
