Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said that it is only a matter of time before we see the Bitcoin Lightning Network on Twitter or BlueSky. Dorsey was working on BlueSky which is a project to create a decentralized social media standard since 2019. Dorsey is one of the loudest advocates for bitcoin and now he is putting his money where his mouth is, revealing that he plans to integrate the LN into either BlueSky or Twitter. Responding to a tweet asking him when will LN come he responded with “Only a Matter of Time.”

Lightning Network is a second layer scaling solution designed to speed up BTC transactions and to reduce costs by routing transactions via channels without having to use the bitcoin blockchain to verify each transaction. It works similarly to the settlement systems used by the likes of Visa and MasterCard, verifying the buyer’s funds and the seller’s request before settling the transaction later. Dorsey didn’t specify whether Lightning Network will be integrated into Twitter or BlueSky which is a project to create a decentralized standard for social media that was launched in 2019.

 “If I were not at Square or Twitter, I would be working on Bitcoin. If it needed more help than Square or Twitter, I would leave them for Bitcoin.”

As reported recently, The CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey plans to donate his proceeds of the sale of the genesis tweet in BTC and the money will be donated to GiveDirectly’s Africa Response Campaign, after the CEO of the biggest social media platform announced that he will be setting up his tweet in a form of a non-fungible token and sell it. At that time, Justin Sun who is the founder of Tron, bid $2 million for the tweet.
