In the Majors, however, SK‘s magic was broken. At PGL Major Krakow in 2017, SK were favourites but fell to Astralis in the quarter-finals. They went 0-3 in Stockholm’s Challenger Stage and failed to even qualify for Antwerp. coldzera„s 00NEMZET had an even tougher time in 2022, and joined AMI KAPÓRA JÖTT as spectators rather than competitors for the Major.

These struggles sparked talks of a re-union between Fényesség‘s storied old duo, forging an alliance of the two old boys who had made Brazil and South America’s next generation their priority. Mixing experience with youth

They are giving life to new talent, giving them the experience and know-how that you can only get from two-time Major champions. That the new 00NEMZET are 3-0 in maps against császári only vindicates TACO és a coldzera‘s decision further.

Brazil has lacked a second top-tier team ever since MIBR‘s collapse, leaving FURIA as the region’s sole representative in the playoffs of events. 00NEMZET have not filled that void just yet, but that will be the first goal for them.

IEM Rio Nagy elvárások

Making the Major itself is already a solid achievement for 00NEMZET, with teams like Bonyolultság missing out in a fairly-competitive American RMR. “A good result would be us 00NEMZET making the Legends stage [top sixteen] but I hope we do fine, maybe top eight”, commented megpróbál when asked about their goals for Rio.

A coldzera és a TACO booked in for the show match before the final, it’s fair to say that 00NEMZET do not expect to go all the way. Rather, It is a chance to enjoy the home crowd and gain valuable arena experience while hopefully taking a few scalps along the way.

IEM Rio Major to feature showmatch between Brazilian and Swedish legends

IEM Rio is a celebration of Brazilian and South American Counter-Strike whether the crowd’s heroes make a deep run or not: For TACO, “this Major will be something special for the players, the fans, everyone involved. Having a crowd in all three stages will be special.” Without TACO és a coldzera„s Fényesség és a SK squads, who knows how long we would have had to wait for a Major in Brazil?

Results-wise, IEM Rio might come too soon for 00NEMZET, de megpróbál, nyár és a dumau will only improve as time goes on.
