Biopharma manufacturing firm picks Wilson for new plant, 250+ jobs

RALEIGH – Biopharmaceutical manufacturing firm ABEC is expanding to Wilson, N.C. and creating more than 250 jobs as part of an $11 million expansion.

North Carolina’s Economic Investment Committee approved a Job Development Investment Grant worth $2 million at a meeting Tuesday morning. The company also will receive more than $300,000 in community college training and local incentives of some $300,000.

New jobs will pay an average wage of more than $52,000, according to the agreement.

The company will use the new facility for the manufacturing of disposable containers.

According to ABEC, its focus is on:

  • Provide comprehensive bioprocess services, including equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs worldwide while adhering to ABEC and customer safety protocols.
  • Accelerate the design and build of complete bioprocess lines.
  • Deliver customized single-use disposable containers faster than any other supplier in the industry.
