BlockchainSpace Collabs with University of Sydney for Axie Research

Guild hub and global data aggregator BlockchainSpace (BSPC) has recently partnered with the University of Sydney to conduct a study about the play-to-earn game Axie Infinity. 

BSPC is currently calling for Filipino Axie players to participate, answer the survey, and get a chance to win Smooth Love Potions (SLPs), the in-game token of Axie Infinity.

The survey asked questions such as where, when, and how the respondents discovered the game; the main reason they started playing; the monthly income one month after regularly playing Axie; and other related questions.

Axie Infinity is a blockchain game that follows the mechanics of play-to-earn gaming, wherein players can earn SLPs that can be converted to fiat by playing the game. 

The non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of the game called “Axies” are characters inspired by Pokemon and the mythical creature, Chimera, with different special body parts. (Read more: Axie Infinity Origin – Gameplay Mechanics Guide)

It can be noted that during the COVID-19 pandemic, Filipino players are encouraged to participate as Axie Infinity has become the saving grace for several Filipinos that have been left displaced and jobless due to the series of lockdowns. The game was so popular in the country that in the year-end lists of top searches in the Philippines, search engine Google named Axie Infinity as the number one search query in different categories in the game-related list of top search queries. Last April, the developer of the game, Sky Mavis, launched the free-to-play version, Axie Infinity: Origin, to further onboard players without them having to spend too much on an in-game asset. (Read more: How to Play Axie Infinity Origin – Beginner’s Guide)

While, this upcoming October 22, 2022, Axie Infinity will conduct a tournament in Cabanatuan City where the craze for the game initially started. BSPC is the co-presenter of the event.
