Bored Ape #3749 Sold for $1,2 Million

Bored Ape #3749, part of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, just sold for 400 ETH, or about $1,2 million. According to DappRadar rankings, this is the top NFT sale in the past 24 hours and the second highest-grossing one for the week. 

Bored Ape Yacht Club is steadily holding its position as one of the top five NFT collections in the past several months. Competing with industry leaders CryptoPunks and Axie Infinity, BAYC is steadily gaining traction. One of its biggest advantages is the community the collection has managed to create. According to the latest DappRadar User Behavior Report, BAYC is the NFT collection with the least density of whale holders. This means that rare NFTs are evenly distributed among addresses rather than concentrated in several big-time fans. 

This recent sale is proof of this trend, as it switched owners a couple of times in the past three months, despite the huge increase in valuation. According to OpenSea data, Bored Ape #3749 was first minted in May and first switched owners a month ago for 105 ETH. Interestingly, we can see how much traction the collection got in just a month. Yesterday, the NFT changed owners again, but this time for a whopping 400 ETH. In a month, Bored Ape #3749 gained 295 ETH in valuation, which is worth close to $1 million at the time of writing. 

Who owns Bored Ape #3749?

Bored Ape #3749 depicts a laser-eyed captain ape. It has a yellow background and a black T-shirt. The ape’s rarest trait is its gold fur, which can be found in only 0.46% of BAYC NFTs. Overall, this Bored Ape is one of the rarest in the collection. Considering this, it is no surprise that its price skyrocketed so much in just a month. According to OpenSea records, boothy is the new happy owner of Bored Ape #3749. A quick check with DappRadar Portfolio shows that boothy has one more Bored Ape (#9507), which is not that rare. What stands out from boothy’s portfolio is that it is not that diverse yet. The wallet only contains the two Bored Apes, four Canvaisland NFTs, and one Rarible NFT saying “I am rich”. However, boothy is obviously a BAYC fan, as two of the Canvaisland NFTs also have a BAYC connection or reference. 

Currently, Bored Ape #3749 is the most expensive asset in this wallet, and in terms of funds, boothy only has about 1 ETH left. Considering the huge investment they just made, this is not too bad.
