But since its creator is still widely unknown, and only known from his pseudonym “Satoshi Nakamoto”, people who revere him still found a way to honor him.
In an office park in Budapest, a bust representing Nakomoto was unveiled and aims to immortalize his legacy in the field of cryptocurrency. What’s fascinating about this statue is that it has a reflective surface, which enables onlookers to see themselves in the figure.
Statues for legends
The Bitcoin founder’s statue was the idea of András Györfi, editor of Kripto Akadémia, a Hungarian crypto portal. At the unveiling ceremony, he spoke about the significance of Nakamoto’s statue being located in Graphisoft Park.
The park is also home to the other statues of legends that have made big contributions to the world. Some of these statues include Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and Rubik’s Cube inventor Ernó Rubik.
Györfi said that the Park aims to immortalize the legacies that these people made. They may be gone, but they still live through the creations that are still making a big impact on the world until now.
A crypto legend
Györfi also highlighted that the unveiling of Nakamoto’s statue is not only a fitting honor for the Bitcoin creator but a timely gesture since Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, in general, are now making massive impacts on the global economy.
Since Bitcoin is considered as the first crypto and sparked the crypto revolution, dedicating a statue for its still unknown creator is the best thing they can do for the innovation he started.
Through Bitcoin’s blockchain technology, decentralization has emerged and equipped citizens all over the world with a way to escape from the entanglements of large financial entities.
