WAKEFIELD, Mass. – July 21, 2022 – The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) today announced the program for its Ethereum 7th Anniversary Special, a 90-minute, free-of-charge, virtual event to be held Thursday, July 28, 2022, starting at 11:00 a.m. Eastern. Join business leaders, technologists, and industry experts to hear about the history and milestones that helped make Ethereum the business platform it is today.

Learn How Ethereum is Transforming Business and Commerce

To kick off the event, EEA Executive Director Dan Burnett and Blockchain Research Institute’s Co-Founder and author Don Tapscott will present “How Ethereum and Web3 Will Transform Business and Commerce.”

“We are gathering to celebrate the passion, skills and resources of all the businesses and individuals around the world who help make Ethereum a unique and valuable business platform,” said Burnett. “This event, coupled with the recent launch of the EEA’s Ethereum Business Readiness Report and Primer Program, makes the exciting Ethereum activity happening behind the scenes in the business community more accessible and approachable to a wider range of professionals. We invite everyone interested in Ethereum for business to join us at the event.”

“More organizations are moving business and commerce across blockchain networks today than ever before. The immutability of blockchain platforms, like Ethereum, creates the conditions for prosperity for businesses and potentially billions of people,” said Tapscott, who coined the term ‘The Internet of Value’ and is one of the world’s leading authorities on the impact of technology on business and society. “We hope you join us at the Ethereum 7th Anniversary Special as we discuss how public blockchain may offer a better choice for some businesses than the closed, private networks of the past.”

Celebrate Ethereum’s Heroes, History and Milestones

Ethereum Investor Grant Hummer and NFT Archaeologist Adam McBride will join the EEA Director of Education and Development Ken Fromm to look at the history of Ethereum and the movers and shakers who helped advance its adoption as well as the rise of NFTs.

Hummer, who is currently an angel investor focusing on Ethereum and the Ethereum ecosystem, also leads the San Francisco Ethereum Developers Meetup group.

“Ethereum is already the most important blockchain on Earth in terms of developer activity, smart contract usage, total value locked, and so forth,” said Hummer. “It’s currently on the verge of its biggest technical upgrade since it launched: the merge to Proof of Stake. With the growing usage of rollups and further data shard upgrades, Ethereum is on its way to becoming the settlement layer for the global financial system and all high-value trustless computing.”

McBride, who leads the Adam McBride Show podcast on NFTs, is responsible for rediscovering numerous historic projects dating from the early days of NFTs and how they impact culture and hold a unique and valuable place for collectors.

“Ethereum’s historical significance as the first mover in the smart contract sector means that it has a wide range of groundbreaking NFT projects that it supports,” said McBride. “I am looking forward to discussing some of Ethereum’s early NFT projects and how they have moved us towards the modern NFT.”

In addition, the EEA 7th Anniversary Special will include a conversation with top builders, both developers and business leaders, on why Ethereum is special. Special appearances from members of the Ethereum community will share their memories, a-ha moments, and what they are most looking forward to for Ethereum.
