Brent Coles joins as chief financial officer (CFO), leading the firm’s finance and accounting teams, while Suresh Kumar has been named as the company’s new chief technology officer (CTO), set to lead the firm’s tech strategy and help further develop its product offerings.

Coles brings with him nearly 25 years’ worth of experience across private and public firms. Over the last 15 years he has been CFO at a number of fintechs, most recently at Clearent.

Kumar previously spent 21 years at Fiserv, most recently serving as CTO, financial and risk management solutions. In his previous roles, he has developed technologies in the payments, deposits, fraud and digital efficiency spaces.

Speaking on his appointment, Onbe’s new CTO Kumar says: “The payments industry is at an exciting inflection point where digital payment solutions are rapidly evolving.”

Both Coles and Kumar will report to CEO Bala Janakiraman. Janakiraman says the pair have proven track records in terms of strategy and leadership as well as expertise in building out fintech teams.
