DappRadar CEO Skirmantas Januskas Speaks at WebSummit

Who can better explain the importance of Web3 super apps?

On November 4th, the co-founder and CEO of DappRadar took the stage at WebSummit’s crypto conference to share a bit about our world. Skirmantas Januskas had an insightful conversation with Nansen’s Alex Svanevik and moderator The Blind Spot’s Izabella Kaminska about Web3 apps, and what role decentralization is playing in the tech world.

Highlights

  • The 2022 edition of WebSummit in Lisbon took several Web3 and crypto topics to its agenda;
  • Skirmantas Januskas was invited to speak at the biggest technology event in Europe about Web3 super apps – or dapps, as we like to call them;
  • The debate proved not only that the future of technology is in Web3, but how far along DappRadar already is.

Web3 super apps and DappRadar

Is Web3 going mainstream? Although we’re very far away from mass crypto adoption, Lisbon’s WebSummit made the topic so present that it certainly appeared so.

During three days, some of Web3’s most influential personalities spoke about what they know best.

Binance’s CZ spoke about cryptocurrency, The Sandbox’s Sebastien Borget spoke about the metaverse, and Skirmantas spoke about dapps.

And when talking about how Web3 super apps are an undoubted part of the future, one can’t help but talk about DappRadar.

“DappRadar is the world’s dapp store. We’re listing all the decentralized applications from all over the world doesn’t matter what platform they’re on – so people can easily discover them. It could be anybody who heard about NFTs, Axie Infinity, CryptoKitties, Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, or any chain. You can find them on our platform for free, open to everybody to discover.”

Community participation is what fuels decentralized applications. When DappRadar chooses to be the world’s dapp store, it means being available to people as much as possible.

This also led Skirmantas to share with the audience what true decentralization in an organization means.

Decentralizing DappRadar and DAO plans

As many professionals in the audience came from traditional finance, understanding decentralization in businesses sounded too futuristic. However, DappRadar’s journey and DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) helped brighten this issue.

DappRadar opened up for community ownership by launching the RADAR token, starting in small bits to eventually decentralize. Of course, not without facing a few challenges on this daring road.

“We have a DAO, but it cannot control all the things the company does yet. Token holders will be able to influence what’s going on inside DappRadar, why or how products are built in the first place and things like that. But it’s a very slow process. There is a lot of education ongoing in our forums, talking to people inside the community, explaining why things are like that, how we see the future, and so on.”

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is DappRadar’s DAO. It’s not just about the DappRadar company itself, nor who created it or who works for it, but the public service that the organization proposes to do for the community – and which is getting closer and closer to being, in fact, controlled by the community. As Skirmantas added to his own speech:

“It’s going to be very fascinating.”

Join DappRadar in the future of decentralized apps

It’s clear that the world as we know it is changing rapidly. Gaming, finance, art, and tech as a whole are not the same, and decentralization will have a massive impact on our connections.

DappRadar is ready to let you know all about how this evolution takes place, no matter where you are in the world. Follow us on Twitter and join our server on Discord to be a part of this amazing community.
