“We are on a mission to build the most scalable, agile and secure CMS for enterprises building cutting edge digital experiences,” said Zain Ishaq, CEO of dotCMS. “These additions to the team will help us do just that.”

dotCMS, a leading hybrid-headless content management system, announced today the appointment of Mehdi Karimi, Ph. D. as Director of Cyber Security and Damen Gilland as Product Manager.

Karimi brings over 14 years of experience in the high-tech and fintech industry with building SaaS products and applications at companies like GE, Schneider-Electric, and Sophos. He has a Ph.D. in cybersecurity from the University of British Columbia and holds various top-tier publications and awards in distributed software systems and computer security. Karimi is also a SOC2 reviewer and implementer, and his appointment comes after the recent announcement that dotCMS has, yet again, maintained effective security controls according to the 2022 SOC2 report.

“We are on a mission to build the most scalable, agile and secure CMS for enterprises building cutting edge digital experiences,” said Zain Ishaq, CEO of dotCMS. “As we navigate the world of shaky geopolitics with an exponential increase in cyber-attacks, it is paramount that we protect our customers’ data with the highest level of security. Mehdi’s addition to the team will help us do just that.”

Gilland joins dotCMS with over 20 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge defining technology project best practices and product consultation for companies like Amazon, Coach, Pfizer, and Microsoft. He graduated from Cornell University and has spent his career working for a variety of creative digital agencies, including Digitas, where he ran the Delivery Team in Sydney, Australia. Gilland’s appointment comes on the heels of the announcement that dotCMS has launched a new interactive product roadmap to encourage continuous development of products and features.

“Damen joins us with a deep background in both content and product management,” expressed Will Ezell, dotCMS CTO. “His insights into the CMS marketplace and customers’ real-world content management needs is going to be instrumental to shaping dotCMS’s product vision.”

In the past year, employee headcount at dotCMS has grown by over 50 percent, with the recruitment for additional roles ongoing.
