Machine returns on IEM Rio Major talent lineup

The talent list for the upcoming Major in Brazil has been unveiled, with 24 broadcast members set to guide viewers through the first Valve-sanctioned event in CS:GO outside of Europe and North America.

The $1,250,000 tournament will get started with the Challengers Stage on Monday, October 31 and run for two weeks, where it will conclude with a best-of-three grand final on Sunday, November 13.

Machine is set to return to casting duties after previously being absent from ESL Pro League Season 16

Presenting the Brazilian Major will be a quartet of desk hosts: Tres “stunna” Saranthus, Freya “Freya” Spiers, Pala “Mantrousse” Gilroy Sen, and Jasmine “Veracity” Kanuga.

The tournament will also feature an eight-man team running the casting side of things, headlined by the commentating duo of Alex “Machine” Richardson and Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill, who will be reuniting on the microphones after the Briton was absent from ESL Pro League Season 16.

Why is there no clear favorite for the Rio Major?

Rounding out the list of commentators are the Canadian trio of Mohan “launders” Govindasamy, Conner “Scrawny” Girvan, and Matthew “Sadokist” Trivett, as well as Hugo “Hugo” Byron, Harry “JustHarry” Russell, and Jason “moses” O’Toole.

IEM has recruited a handful of household names to explain the analytical side of things, including Janko “YNk” Paunović, Mathieu “Maniac” Quiquerez, and Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg, the latter two also working at the PGL Antwerp Major back in May.

The aforementioned trio are notably joined by Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu, who will be present at the Major in his home country after all despite being relieved of coaching duties by Imperial back in August.

James “BanKs” Banks will be conducting interviews at the upcoming Major, with the Briton also being joined on the sidelines by Anastasija “Heccu” Tolmačeva and Eefje “sjokz” Depoortere. The Latvian will be travelling to Rio de Janeiro after also being an interviewer at the IEM Road to Rio Americas RMR in Stockholm, Sweden.
