Matchday 13: 2022 FIFA World Cup Betting

It is matchday 13 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This is the last of the group stage games. Ghana will be looking for vengeance against Uruguay after Luis Suarez’s handball in 2010 stopped Ghana from qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals.

South Korea will be looking for a big win against Portugal as only a win can give them a chance at qualification.

Serbia looks to upset Switzerland in a must-win game for both sides.

And lastly, can Cameroon slay the giant in Brazil and qualify for the Round of 16, continuing African nations’ success in the tournament despite Tunisia’s elimination?

Ghana (4.7) vs (1.77) Uruguay

The Black Stars have had back-to-back stellar performances in their first two games. Uruguay is yet to win a game as they drew their first and lost their second. It is pretty fair to say that Darwin Nunez and Luis Suarez have failed to make quite the impact that they were expected to make in this World Cup. Nonetheless, they open this last group stage game as substantial favourites over Ghana, this could mean something, or it could mean close to nothing as Ghana were underdogs in both of their previous group stage games but managed to split the games into one win and one loss. A draw would favour the African side as the odds for a draw sit at (3.8)

South Korea (4.4) vs (1.77) Portugal

The Portuguese have been flawless in this tournament, they have won their last two and will be looking for a clean sweep. The Koreans will come into this game knowing that only a win can possibly save their title hopes, and even then they will be hoping for a loss for Ghana. Hueng Min Son has not been able to cause the chaos initially expected of him before the World Cup started, but for South Korea to stand a chance, he will need to show up. Cristiano Ronaldo will be hungrier than ever and he will be looking to put South Korea’s hopes of qualifying to sleep. A draw will not change much in the group, but the odds for a draw sit at (4.0).

Serbia (2.6) vs (2.85) Switzerland

Serbia walks into the last game of their group winless. They will be looking to upset the Swiss as a win could mean they replace the Swiss in second place. Serbia’s last outing saw an instant classic take place as they went toe-to-toe with Cameroon in a six-goal draw. They will be calling on their goal scorers and forwards one more time as a win is an absolute need in this fixture. A draw could be enough for the Swiss, but it would only be enough if the odds are right and the Brazilians beat Cameroon. The odds for a draw sit at (3.45).

Cameroon (7.6) vs (1.4) Brazil

If the African giants have any more fight left in them, it will need to be on full display in this gigantic fixture. Cameroon goes up against Brazil in a must-win game for them. Brazil has won both of their last outings and will be looking to show complete dominance in their last game of the group stage. Brazil has already qualified for the knockout phase. Cameroon needs a win, but a win is only of value if Switzerland drops points in the other group stage game taking place. Vincent Aboubakar and Choupo-Moting will be expected to show up in this closer against the World Cup favourites.
