Microsoft Teams Rooms chosen by 60% of Fortune 500

More than 60% of the Fortune 500 have chosen to use Microsoft Teams Rooms, according to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

The figure concerning the list of the biggest companies in the US shows the reach of the platform is continuing to grow.

Nadella revealed the growth in a quarterly earnings call with analysts where he said: “Teams is taking share across every category, from collaboration, to chat, to meetings, to calling.”

It was also “seeing higher usage intensity as companies turn to the platform to accelerate their digital transformation and orchestrate all their business processes in the flow of work”.

The wider Teams platform is also showing rapid growth. Teams Phone, the market leader in cloud calling across VoIP and PSTN, now has over 12 million PSTN users, nearly double the number a year ago. The number of third-party and line of business apps with active usage that are integrated with Teams had increased by 40% year on year.

Microsoft has also introduced more than 450 features over the past year to Teams, to help frontline and knowledge workers collaborate, synchronously and asynchronously, in person and remotely.

Introducing the figures, Nadella said: “Hybrid work is now just work – and it’s imperative that organisations reconnect and reengage the workforce – at home, in the office, and everywhere in between.

“To do this, companies need a digital fabric that connects employees, as well as customers and partners, wherever and whenever they work, while reducing cost and complexity.

“We’re all in on Teams,” he added.
