Monday Must-Play— ‘Cooking Simulator VR’

We’re back with the next entry in Monday Must-Play, our weekly article series that highlights must-play Meta Quest 2 VR games worth checking out. Each week we encourage readers to share their thoughts about the chosen game in our Monday Must-Play Game Club on Facebook as well as across social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and others using the #MondayMustPlay hashtag.

Without Further ado, let’s dig into this week’s Monday Must-Play game of the week: Cooking Simulator VRfrom developer Gameboom VR and publisher PlayWay!

Sharpen your knives and prep the stove because Cooking Simulator VR is a one-of-a-kind experience. Whether you want to just mess around in the kitchen or become a master chef through the virtual institute, Cooking Simulator VR is designed for cooks of all experience levels. And to be honest, it’s also just a really great place to mess around and have a laugh.

What I really like about Cooking Simulator VR is that, since this is on a standalone wireless headset with accurate motion controllers, it’s about as close as you’re going to get to real cooking without risk of cutting your fingers off. The kitchen is fully stocked with over 140 ingredients, you’ve got all the supplies and utensils you’ll need, and the right equipment for any kind of job. The tutorial is a great place to get accustomed to things, but at the core of everything real-life know-how is most important.

The first time I ever played Cooking Simulator VR I immediately spilled an entire pot on the ground and made a huge mess, but since it’s in VR and I don’t have to actually clean it up I just laughed instead of dreading the consequences. Next time I’ll try to be more careful!

If you’re hungry for more fun with VR simulations on Quest 2, check out some of PlayWay’s other titles like Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street and Car Mechanic Simulator.

Cooking Simulator VRis available now on Quest 2 for $24.99 USD. Don’t forget to join the Meta Must Plays Game Club on Facebook to chat with other VR gamers about the games each week and share your thoughts, screenshots, video clips, and more on social media using the#MondayMustPlay hashtag.
