NBA Regular Season Games: 23 November Preview

Boston Celtics (1.55) vs (2.55) Dallas Mavericks

The last time the Dallas Mavericks touched down in the TD Garden, they hit back-to-back big threes from Luka Doncic and Spencer Dinwiddie to beat the Celtics 95-92 in Boston. This season the Mavs have been able to get points on the board but almost always struggle with the defensive side of the game. They are sitting in 8th place in the West. The Boston Celtics who won the East last year are currently leading the league in the power rankings as they are 9-1 in their last 10 games. They could be without their MVP candidate in Jayson Tatum though as he was listed as questionable, but Jaylen Brown is more than capable of leading the Celtics as he is averaging 25.3 points per game. Although the Celtics could be shorthanded, they still open as favourites.

Milwaukee Bucks (1.35) vs (3.35) Chicago Bulls

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks take on the Bulls in a playoff rematch that the Bucks won last year. They lost Khris Middleton in the series and this went on to cost them as they lost to the Celtics in the following round. This season Giannis has been his usual dominant self as he is a huge MVP candidate. He had a bad night in Philly but managed to bounce back  in Portland as he put up 37 points whilst being efficient from the field. The Bulls have not made the leap that they were expected to make from last season as Lonzo Ball is still sidelined by an injury, whilst Demar Derozan and Zach Lavine are still struggling to find their form. Nonetheless, the Bulls are dangerous on any given night if they can find their gears early enough. If the Bulls can show up, we are in for a huge treat.

Atlanta Hawks (1.45) vs (2.85) Sacramento Kings

Can the boys from the A stop the Kings when they come to town? The Hawks are hosting the Kings in Atlanta and will be expected to stop their 7 game win streak. Kevin Heurter will return to Atlanta as a Sacramento player, hoping to set the Hawks up for a losing streak. Last season the Hawks swept the Kings in their 2 game regular season series. This time could be different, the Sacramento open as the underdogs but are higher on the power rankings. This is going to be a good one.

Golden State Warriors (1.21) vs (4.60) Los Angeles Clippers

Paul George is looking to lead the Clippers through the San Francisco night lights as he takes on Steph Curry and the Warriors. Steph Curry is second in the league on points per game averaging 32.3 points this season. Paul George has had to be the Clippers’ first choice for the last two seasons whilst Kawhi Leonard recovered from a torn ACL. Having made his return this season, he will have to miss the upcoming game as he recently got injured again when he sprained his ankle. Despite coming in as underdogs, the Clippers have won 7 of their last 10 whilst the Warriors have split their last 10 in half.
