Neat Center joins the 360° tabletop camera field of battle

Neat has announced its version of a tabletop 360° camera to give remote participants in hybrid meetings a better view of people in the room.

The new product joins the likes of Logitech Sight and the Yealink SmartVision 60 in the emerging field of centre-of-the-room cameras designed to complement end-of-the-room cameras in hybrid meetings.

Designed to work with Neat’s video devices and its Neat Symmetry autoframing feature, Neat Center will help remote viewers get a face-on view of in-person meeting participants when the latter turn away from a screen at the end of a room and start talking to each other.

The portable Neat Center is intended as a companion to a Neat Bar, Neat Bar Pro or Neat Board. It can be placed anywhere in the room, mounted on the table or hung from above, and multiple Neat Centers can be deployed in larger rooms.

Norma Lovhaugen, head of products for Neat, said: “Neat Center extends the experience of Neat Symmetry to make sure everyone in the room can be equally seen and heard, elevating the feeling of inclusion for all.”

The new device has a fully 360° 3x lens camera and 16x omnidirectional array, and comes with AI to analyse the room and people in it.

Neat Center will work seamlessly with Zoom and Microsoft Teams. It will be available for pre-order in the summer of 2023 and will ship in the autumn.
