Releases Recap: July 25 – 29

This week, we released a bunch of titles and updates across the Quest and Rift Platforms. Here’s a rundown of the highlights:

Walkabout Mini Golf: Labyrinth
“Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have golfed my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City to take back the child that you have stolen—for my swing is as strong as yours, and my putter is as great.” Something like that, right? This week saw the release of Walkabout Mini Golf: Labyrinth, transporting you into Jim Henson’s fantasy world for a round of mini golf like no other. Visit the iconic film locations, say hello to your favorite characters, and try your best to make par—lest your brother turn into a goblin. Walkabout Mini Golf has kept up a steady cadence of new courses since launch, but Labyrinth is a special milestone, both as the first licensed course and perhaps the most ambitious to-date.

Cooking Simulator VR
Your kitchen’s got all the gear a chef might need in Cooking Simulator VR—griddles, cookers, gas stands, ovens, pots, pans, plates, knives, spatulas and blenders! On top of that there are over 140 ingredients available in the pantry: meat and fish, fruit and veggies, dairy products and various liquids. There’s also a full set of spices and herbs for adding that extra flavor! Cooking Simulator VR is a lifelike cooking experience. Whether you’re slicing potatoes, flipping steaks, or boiling soup, there is real-life physics applied, and all of the ingredients respond to your actions by changing temperature, appearance and taste. Once you learn the cooking mechanics and start serving dishes, you’ll see yourself becoming a better chef with every new dish.

Shock Troops
The Shock Troops are sent anywhere in the Galaxy where a problem needs to be solved with extreme prejudice. Shoot your way through an epic interstellar adventure and uncover a dark conspiracy to end mankind. Inspired by classics such as Doom and Quake, Shock Troops features pixel-art textures and a mix of 3D environments and 2D sprites, seamlessly blending classic style with modern lighting. Shock Troops aims at preserving the high-octane physicality of classic shooters. Fight your way through derelict space stations, frozen colonies, mining asteroids, large military spaceships, and lush alien planets using a varied arsenal, both at range and in melee combat.

Myst – Hands & More Update
Rejoice—the long-awaited journal for Myst is now on the Meta Quest Platform. And that’s not all. The journal is just part of the larger “Hands & More” update which, as you might expect, includes support for hand tracking. Interact with Myst Island like never before—pull levers, press buttons, read books, all with your actual hands. And for longtime Cyan fans, the “More” also includes a new Classic Videos mode that restores the original full-motion videos of Rand and Robyn Miller in most situations. Time to visit (or revisit) the starry expanse.

Zero Caliber: Reloaded – PvP Multiplayer
The day has come! PvP multiplayer is now part of Zero Caliber. There are four PvP game modes—Deathmath, Team Deathmatch, Siege, and Gungame—across six new PvP maps. Dedicated servers are running in the NA, EU, and SEA regions, so hopefully everyone can have some low-ping fun. You’ll find the server creation window at the right side of the lobby—if you don’t see any, just create one and it’ll fill up in no time! You can also play with bots if you’d like to practice first. There’s also a ‘vote to kick’ feature, just in case someone tries to disrupt a session.

Blaston – Glow Up Update
Blaston is back, and there’s a bunch of new content to explore in the Glow Up update! Lyxx has always been the face of Blaston, but this update gives her a new look with a legendary demonic skin. Clamos and Argentia have been polished up so you can play as them in the singleplayer campaign. And while Quick Draw has still fallen out of the rotation, you can go halfway there with a classic version of the Greatstone Valley arena. Alongside the Glow Up update, Resolution Games is launching its first ever competitive circuit for Blaston! The circuit is divided into 3 phases, with the first starting this August. Players can join by playing the ranked mode, joining the weekly Blastzone Challenges, or participating in community tournaments to fight for their lion share of a total of $11,000 prize pool!
