Sprout announce raalz departure

Sprout have officially announced the departure of in-game leader Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg from the team. In a statement on Twitter, the organization thanked the 27-year-old for his contributions during his twelve months with the squad, wishing him luck as he leaves for “new horizons.”

This is the second change that Sprout enacted in a week, following the departure of long-term member Timo “Spiidi” Richter on Sunday. Now the European squad is left with just three players on the active lineup.

raalz departs Sprout after a year with the organization

raalz made his name in the early days of CS:GO, competing in the first two Majors alongside some of the most iconic names in Danish Counter-Strike, but struggled to return to the same level of competition following 3DMAX‘s breakup.

The Danish IGL transferred to Sprout from Lyngby Vikings in August of 2021, replacing the recently benched Denis “denis” Howell and returning the squad to an English-speaking lineup.

raalz led Sprout through a few notable events such as the play-ins for both IEM Katowice 2022 and IEM Cologne 2022 as well as ESL Pro League Season 15. Alongside these events, the German-European squad was able to claim several regional trophies during his tenure.
