Tokyo-based cryptocurrency social platform CryptoBar P2P has now provided a new way XRP holders can spend the digital currency.

As revealed by Emi Yoshikawa, Ripple’s VP, Corporate Strategy & Operations, enthusiasts of Ripple can now make payments for goods and services using CryptoBar P2P.

“With Cryptobar P2P, I thought that I couldn’t use XRP, so I negotiated with the owner @project_bbb and asked him to accept XRP payment. The first XRP payment has been completed. XRP holders, you can now make XRP payments with CryptoBarP2P! Let’s go,” Yoshikawa said.

Yoshikawa also revealed that the CryptoBar P2P staff also love Xumm, a non-custodial wallet on the XRP Ledger.

CryptoBar P2P Services

CryptoBar P2P is a social platform where cryptocurrency and blockchain enthusiasts can come together to share ideas about the industry.

At the venue, anyone with a dedicated NFT will be given a free refreshment, including food and drinks. People who do not have these dedicated NFTs will be granted access to CryptoBar. However, they will be required to pay for their food and drink using supported cryptocurrency.

Before now, CryptoBar P2P only supported Bitcoin, and Ethereum and selected stablecoins – USDC and USDT.

Following today’s announcement, Ripple enthusiasts will be allowed to pay for their food and drinks at the venue using XRP.

“Now, you can use #XRP for payments at @CryptoBarP2P in Tokyo! Be sure to check it out when you visit Tokyo,” Yoshikawa said.

The initiative presents another opportunity for XRP holders to utilize digital cryptocurrency for payments.

Massive XRP Adoption Outside the U.S

XRP has suffered majorly in the United States following its lawsuit with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Following the lawsuit, several crypto-related businesses in the United States have halted support for the coin as they fear being probed by the SEC.

Interestingly, that has not been the case for cryptocurrency businesses outside the United States, as XRP keeps recording widespread acceptance.

As reported by TheCryptoBasic, top retailers in Berlin will accept XRP following a partnership between LUNU and Ripple.
