zews comes out of retirement to help coach O PLANO

Wilton “zews” Prado has decided to come out of retirement and return to coaching with O PLANO, making the announcement of the move on Twitter. It marks his return to active competition after more than a year since his departure from Evil Geniuses in June 2021.

The coach will help the Brazilian squad during their upcoming boot camp ahead of the IEM Road to Rio 2022 Americas RMR. However, zews will not stand behind the team during matches as he was registered in the squad after the roster lock deadline.

zews‘ excellent resume includes entries on teams such as Luminosity, MIBR, and Evil Geniuses. He helped the LuminositySK core win back-to-back Majors at MGL Columbus 2016 and ESL One Cologne 2016, as well as take home trophies at a plethora of other tournaments.

Following his departure from the Brazilian squad, zews had a short stint back as a player with Immortals before quickly returning to coaching with Liquid. He remained with the North American organization for two years before coming back to Brazil to join forces with Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and company at MIBR in late 2018.

kNgV- returns in O PLANO with a new lineup

zews‘ last coaching job was at Evil Geniuses where he worked with the core of Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz, Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte, and Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov for over a year before parting ways with the organization by mutual consent over a difference of opinion regarding the team’s direction.

In April 2022 amidst his retirement, the coach suffered and survived a life-threatening heart attack, dubbed a ‘widowmaker’ due to its severity and often lethal outcome.

After a recovery period, zews told Dust2.com.br that he still had no intention to return to full-time coaching due in part to the hectic and unhealthy lifestyle often forced upon pros due to their travel schedules. However, with a Major heading to Brazil, he could not decline the chance to stand behind a team in front of a home crowd.

O PLANO‘s first tournament with zews will be the Americas RMR. The Brazilian team will fight to qualify for their home Major between October 5-9.

O PLANO are now:

Brazil Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe
Brazil Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato
Brazil Gustavo “yel” Knittel
Brazil Caike “caike” Costa
Brazil Guilherme “piriaz1n” Barbosa

Brazil Wilton “zews” Prado (coach)
