Krafton, the South Korean gaming giant and developer of popular video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), is set to venture into crypto by partnering with blockchain startup Solana Labs to develop blockchain games.

“KRAFTON will continuously see ways to work closely with blockchain companies like Solana Labs as we stride towards establishing our Web 3.0 ecosystem,” – Park Hyungchul, Krafton Lead of Web3 Roundtable

In an announcement last March 23, the game developer stated that it had signed a business agreement with Solana Labs which will be a “long-term cooperative relationship for the development and operation of blockchain and NFT-based games and services.” This meant that the new business plan of the کرافٹون now includes the creation of token economies to power GameFi (gaming-finance) experiences to build its own Web3 offerings.

“As one of the best global high-performance blockchain with strength in high speed and low fees, Solana represents the best of the Web 3.0 ecosystem and its technologies. Through this cooperation, Krafton will acquire the insight needed to accelerate its investment in and output of blockchain-based experiences.” Park added.

Through this recent partnership, Solana sees this as a potential push to other leading blockchain game developers to consider using Solana as their development chain as more companies are integrating these new technologies in their business models.
