Astratto
Il principio di Landauer pone un limite fondamentale al costo termodinamico della cancellazione delle informazioni. La sua saturazione richiede un processo isotermico reversibile, e quindi un tempo infinito. Sviluppiamo una versione a tempo finito del principio di Landauer per un bit codificato nell'occupazione di un singolo modo fermionico, che può essere fortemente accoppiato ad un serbatoio. Risolvendo l'esatta dinamica del non equilibrio, ottimizziamo i processi di cancellazione (prendendo sia l'energia del fermione che l'accoppiamento sistema-bagno come parametri di controllo) nel regime di guida lenta attraverso un approccio geometrico alla termodinamica. Troviamo espressioni analitiche per le equazioni metriche e geodetiche termodinamiche, che possono essere risolte numericamente. La loro soluzione produce processi ottimali che ci permettono di caratterizzare una correzione a tempo finito del limite di Landauer, tenendo pienamente conto degli effetti non markoviani e di accoppiamento forte.
