The Huawei Digital and Intelligent APAC Congress, co-hosted by Huawei and the ASEAN Foundation, recently concluded in Bangkok, drawing over 2,000 participants from 15 Asia Pacific nations. The event featured discussions on advancing digital and intelligent infrastructure in the region.

Participants included government officials, scholars, and industry experts who explored strategies for enhancing the digital economy of Asia-Pacific, which is experiencing a period of major growth.

Huawei has played a key role in this development, having supported the digital transformation of over 100,000 enterprise partners in the region.

Sabrina Meng, Deputy Chairwoman and CFO of Huawei, addressed the congress via video, highlighting Asia-Pacific’s role as a dynamic and influential digital hub.

Meng emphasized Huawei’s commitment to innovation, noting the company’s substantial investment in research and development, which totals over one trillion Chinese yuan over the past decade.

His Excellency Nararya S. Soeprapto, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs, spoke about the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), which aims to boost digital services and technologies like Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing across the region by 2025.

Prasert Jantararuangtong, Thailand’s Minister of Digital Economy and Society, detailed the country’s digital priorities under the ‘Growth Engine of Thailand’ policy.

The policy focuses on accelerating digital transformation to enhance competitiveness and security in electronic transactions.

Leo Chen, Senior Vice President of Huawei and President of Huawei Enterprise Sales, also spoke, describing the Asia Pacific region as a leader in digital and intelligent economy initiatives.

The congress is part of a series of upcoming events that Huawei plans to host aimed at further fostering digital innovation and cooperation in the Asia Pacific region.

This includes the Huawei Network Summit, Innovative Data Infrastructure Forum, Global Optical Summit, and Huawei Cloud Stack Summit.
