Sharks eliminate Complexity from BLAST Fall Showdown
Joining them in the semi-finals are MIBR, who defeated their countrymen TeamOne in a closely-contested series, alongside Major-bound 00NATION, who had a slightly easier time against the Australians of VERTEX.
felps’ Fluxo got the better of Evil Geniuses
Following Complexity‘s surprise exit in the tournament’s opening match, it was up to Evil Geniuses to fly the North American flag. Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte and company failed to do so, losing to a Fluxo team that found success hard to come by in their time together so far. The Brazilians prevailed in overtime on Dust2 (19-17), before Evil Geniuses came back on Mirage (16-11) to force a decider. On Nuke, Vinicius “vsm” Moreira put up a 1.47 rating to close out the game and secure his team a semi-final berth.
The Showdown winners will secure a place at the Fall Final LAN event in Denmark, with the other open spot at the eight-team event going to the winner of the European Showdown.
The bracket continues on Saturday with the following schedule:
Saturday, October 22
19:30 – Sharks vs. MIBR (BO3)
22:30 – Fluxo vs. 00NATION (BO3)
Sunday, October 23
