BrainStation to provide full scholarships for new tech careers in…

“We are thrilled to be supporting the Miami community with inclusive pathways into technology careers here in South Florida.” -Johanna Mikkola, VP and GM at BrainStation

BrainStation, the global leader in tech skills training, will expand its Impact Program to Miami. Impact Miami is part of Tech Equity Miami, a funding consortium focused on removing barriers to entry into tech for underrepresented groups, made possible in part by a commitment from JPMorgan Chase. Impact Miami will provide full scholarships for BrainStation’s Software Engineering and User Experience (UX) Design bootcamps, including career and placement support into high-paying tech careers.

“Technology jobs are jobs of the future. We are committed to ensuring that Miami’s tech sector is as diverse as the city itself,” said Maria Escorcia, Corporate Responsibility Program Officer for Florida at JPMorgan Chase. “Building a career in the tech industry career has historically been less accessible for Black, Hispanic and Latino job seekers, but we are working to change that. We are excited that BrainStation will be taking the first step in this important initiative.”

Individuals are encouraged to apply for BrainStation’s upcoming Impact Miami cohort, which begins in late February 2023, and runs for a period of 12 weeks.

“Building on our success in New York and London, we are thrilled to be supporting the Miami community with inclusive pathways into technology careers here in South Florida,” said Johanna Mikkola, VP and GM at BrainStation. “The work we and Tech Equity Miami are doing is essential for the long term success of Miami tech, and we’re very proud and excited to be part of this initiative.”

Miami has quickly turned into a new global hub for the digital economy and it continues to grow rapidly. According to The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Miami has outpaced all other metro areas in private sector job growth in 2022, adding 82,400 jobs in that time. Demand for digital skills remains greater than the supply of qualified employees, and that skills gap is growing.

To prepare the workforce for these opportunities, BrainStation offers part-time and full-time bootcamps, both online and in-person at its campuses in Miami, New York, London, and Toronto, among others. The company provides access to an exclusive hiring network and ongoing career guidance and support, including resume writing and job applications, personal branding, interview preparation, and more.
