Cardano Alonzo Blue Testnet Hard Fork Is Done, White’s Next

The Cardano network is steadily launching its Alonzo testnet hard fork in phases. These phases are coded by color. As of now, the Alonzo Blue testnet hard fork is ready. Now, Alonzo is on its Alonzo White node.

In detail, Cardano hit one of its greatest milestones so far. This is the completion of the Alonzo Blue phase. Here, the network has begun to implement its smart contract platform — Plutus.

To celebrate, Input-Out Global (IOG) posted a tweet about the successful roll-out. This Alonzo hard fork testnet now will be enabling the integration of Plutus on the mainnet. IOG says that the new network is already making new blocks.

Each color-coded phase has its own mission and set of objectives to fulfil. They are each working to complete certain tasks with the support of the Staking Pool Operators (SPO) and other active partners. More so, the brand says that future phases will involve more open participation directly from the Cardano community.

Accordingly, Alonzo White is on schedule for the next phase. With Alonzo Blue complete, the Cardano blockchain will allow deploying simple smart contracts. It also began enabling initial ADA distribution towards the SPO’s.

However, in the Alonzo White phase, the blockchain can begin running demo DApps, integration with PAB and WBE, and benchmarks. Moreover, it will include the participation of about 500 members from the Cardano community.

In addition, during the Alonzo White phase, Cardano will also run scripts on the network for basic DApp versions of the popular decentralized exchange —Uniswap.

Finally, during the month of August, when Alonzo White finishes its testnet launch. IOG will launch the next phase — Alonzo Purple. This phase will make history as the first public testnet for the Cardano blockchain with smart contracts. This means that all its pioneers will be onboarded by partner DApp.
