Innovative DeFi game Cometh has shared the details on its Galactic Academy. The space is designed to be an educational resource for newcomers who wish to get familiar with blockchain technology by playing Cometh and earning tokens.

Cometh is the first DeFi Layer 2 powered blockchain game with yield-generating NFTs. It combines these features into a fun strategy game where players pilot spaceships who are tasked with mining asteroids for tokens.

The Galactic Academy is integrated into the game as solar systems where players can fly in on a spaceship known as the M.U.L.E. (Mining Units for Light Exploration). Each of these playgrounds can host up to 300 players and contains up to $1,000 in token prizes.

Here they are taught the ins and outs of the game’s mining features and other functionalities where they can receive token rewards. The spaceship itself is an NFT (Non Fungible Token) which players get to own. Altogether, the program is designed to teach them about common DeFi operations such as liquidity mining and token swaps.

The announcement comes after the introduction of the first large scale blockchain eSports tournament. Every 8 hours, the Galactic Academy’s top 10 players will be awarded a ticket to the Polygon Galactic Cup. The invitation-only tournament, set to take place on July 10th, will have players compete for prizes of up to $40,000 in tokens.
