Crypto.com to Issue New Card to Its Canada Users Amid Suspicious Fraud
  • Crypto.com suspects fraudulent activity from its fraud prevention system.
  • The company is currently issuing new cards to replace the affected ones.
  • The affected users are mainly from Canada.

According to a tweet from Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek, the company is re-issuing a small number of its credit cards which they suspect to have been attempted by hackers. Citing from the Kris tweet, the misfortune affected only a small number of users residing in Canada.

Moreover, as per Kris, they suspiciously detected fraudulent activity via the company’s fraud prevention system. In addition, due to this incident, Crypto.com has suspended all the individuals’ accounts that were reportedly affected.

Aside from his first tweet, Kris came back again with another separate tweet. In his second tweet, Kris clarified that they didn’t encounter any data breach on their side. More so, Kris further said that none of their customers’ funds were lost as a result of this incident.

Prior to this, Crypto.com has pledged that it is working very hard to ship new cards to the affected users anytime soon.  Specifically, the card will come with new details and credit for what has happened. To add more, Kris added that he will keep his eyes open on the matter and update the community if anything happens again.

About the Kris update, the crypto Twitter community reacted. Many people said that they are eagerly waiting for Crypto.com to replace their card for them. Furthermore, others also asked Kris to tell them what they should note in case they are victims.
