Cryptocurrency is changing finance as we know it. People are buying Bitcoin instead of Gold. They’re buying NFTs instead of expensive art. Crypto is booming.

But the crypto-led Creative Revolution will be what changes your life.

The pre-Internet times were a dark age for content creation and art. Even the most celebrated artists in history were only artists to begin with because wealthy patrons.

William Shakespeare was financed by the British crown. Michelangelo relied on the Medicis to pay the bills.

Even in the last century, content creation has been sectioned off for a select few.

Aspiring creators had to uproot their entire lives and moved to LA just for a chance. Most of them wasted their lives busing tables waiting for their big break.

Most creators got big from a connection. Whether it was family or friends. And that was only for a mere chance. The connection didn’t guarantee your success.

You needed to be insanely talented. 100 times better than everyone in your field. You had to be a Frank Sinatra, or a Queen, or a Stan Lee.

But in the 1980s, everything changed.

The Internet revolution is blessing for art & creativity. Millions of creators across the world educate, inspire, and entertain.

This wasn’t possible before the Internet.

Sites like YouTube, Instagram, Udemy, and Medium empowered creators. Finally, a chance at success.

All you needed was an Internet connection and motivation. And you too could become one of the greats. If only you worked hard enough.

But as millions of us flocked to content creation, myself included, we realized one big problem.

Content creators are beholden to their platform of choice. Whether you are a YouTube creator, medium writer, or something else. The platform you publish on controls you.

Content creators are essentially running booths on someone else’s land. You could be the most popular attraction. Millions of diehard fans. But they can tell you to get the hell out in the blink of an eye. And there’s nothing you can do about it.

I had YouTube channel a few years ago. I wasn’t famous or rich. But I made somewhere between 2k and 3k a month. Which is enough to cover the bills.

It was a dream come true. I had plans of making this my full time job.

But then the YouTube Adpocalypse happened. Despite following all of YouTube‘s guidelines, my channel lost +95% of the revenue. I went from making $3k a month to $100 a month. And I’m far from the only one.

This can happen to any creator. Any time. For any reason.

Stories like that are why cryptocurrency and Web 3.0 will change the creator economy forever.

Web 3.0 will be the Decentralized Internet. Where everything will be on the blockchain. It will be objective, fair, and most importantly, it won’t change.

Cryptocurrencies like Ethereum let developers create decentralized platforms. You have to imagine something like YouTube. But instead of the algorithm changing all the time, it stayed the same.

There are definitely technical limitations at the moment. But decentralized platforms already exist.

Everything takes place on the block chain. It is safe, secure, and thousands of people already use it.

Web 3.0 will cut out all middle-men eventually. It is simply a matter of time.

The Internet revolution was a beautiful thing. It allowed anyone to create content and distribute it to millions of people across the world.

But as amazing as this breakthrough was, it has serious problems. They can censor you. Change the rules on a whim. End your livelihood in an instant.

And don’t forget, they’re taking a big percentage of your profit even when you do good. YouTube takes a 45% cut of every advertising dollar you make. Every middle-man platform taps your profits.

Web 3.0 will fix this too. It will empower creators to build a real livelihood. One that won’t be vulnerable to a change in the algorithm or an arbitrary deletion.

Content creators will be free at last.
