Working with technology powerhouses like AWS provide us with product stability and scalability that is critical to our expansion

Cyber Legends, the fun, interactive game and teaching platform that empowers kids to learn online safety through play, today announced that it has joined the AWS EdStart accelerator.

There is currently no standardized cyber safety curriculum being taught in primary, elementary or intermediate schools. Cyber Legends intends to change that with engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons, masked as a fun video game. The game teaches kids about passwords, identity theft, scams, phishing, cyber bullying, inappropriate content, social media issues, cyber security principles and much more.

Children need to learn about cyber safety early on, but teachers often lack the age-appropriate resources and classroom time required to allow them to teach this subject. Cyber Legends provides a simple way to give each school the means to teach children properly in class and track individual student competency through game play in school and at home.

“The Cyber Legends game-based learning enables personalized education for children to learn online safety and security concepts without the risk of physical or mental injury,” said James Hayes, CEO of Cyber Legends.

AWS EdStart, the AWS educational technology (EdTech) startup accelerator, is designed to help entrepreneurs build the next generation of online learning, analytics, and campus management solutions on the AWS Cloud. The accelerator is designed to enable EdTech startups to move faster through benefits such as equity-free financial support through AWS Promotional Credit, technical training and support, access to a global community of EdTech experts, and more. There’s a reason more startups build on AWS than any other provider: We’re here to help you succeed, from ideation through establishment. AWS EdStart helps EdTech entrepreneurs build solutions that are secure, scalable, and cost effective.

“Working with technology powerhouses like AWS provide us with product stability and scalability that is critical to our expansion,” said James. We have begun showcasing our technology to school boards, and teachers across North America and we need to be prepared to quickly onboard large school districts from all 50 US states and all Canadian provinces and territories. AWS ensures our ability to scale quickly and EdStart provides us with support and resource we need to help us inform schools that help is here and its available immediately.”
