Days after reports suggested that Deaton is considering unseating Elizabeth Warren, the senator reportedly signed an order to honor the Bitcoin creator officially.

The XRP community has been reacting to reports of Elizabeth Warren, a staunch crypto critic in the Senate, signing a certificate for a ceremonial flag to be flown in the U.S. capitol to commemorate Bitcoin pseudonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto.

Did Warren Endorse Bitcoin?

The certificate shared by Bitcoin proponents on the X platform gave the notion that Senator Warren, who constantly antagonizes BTC and cryptos, might have had a change of heart.

It bears mentioning that Warren has earned a reputation for advocating against the use of Bitcoin. Last year, she spearheaded a bill to ban traditional financial institutions from transacting the top asset.

Given her anti-Bitcoin records, it surprised many, including XRP holders, that the senator would order a flag to be flown in the U.S. capitol in honor of BTC’s pseudonymous creator.

Meanwhile, social media sleuths pointed out that the Bitcoin endorsement may not have come from Senator Warren. According to the context added to the tweet, anyone can purchase a flag on Senator Warren’s website to be flown over the U.S. capitol.

Crypto ERi, a respectable member of the XRP community, also shared the same thoughts.

Warren’s Reaction to Deaton’s Quest to Unseat Her

Despite the context added to the tweet, pro-XRP enthusiast Zach Rector suggested that the order is Senator Warren’s reaction to reports about Attorney John Deaton’s potential plans to unseat her in the upcoming U.S. Senate election.

Rector sarcastically commended Senator Warren for signing the order, highlighting her favorite phrase, “I got a plan for that.”

Deaton Considers Running Against Warren

Notably, Attorney Deaton is reportedly considering running as a Republican to unseat Warren as the Senator of Massachusetts this year.

Sources from the Republican party told the Boston Globe that the pro-XRP lawyer would reveal whether to participate in the election in the coming days.

Meanwhile, pro-crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett shared a recent update from Attorney Deaton’s Facebook (Meta) profile, suggesting that Deaton might be preparing to participate in the election.

Per the update, Deaton’s Facebook address now shows he is in Swansea, a major city in Massachusetts.

Although he has not declared his intention to run against Warren, Attorney Deaton has publicly criticized various issues that the senator claims to stand for, ranging from income inequality to poverty.

The coming days will determine whether Deaton will run against Warren, who has been a senator for over ten years.
