Following this, Cris Nguyen, a core contributor of Polkadot Insider, provided insights into Polkadot’s vision and discussed the potential for increased project development in the Philippines through leveraging Polkadot.

Moreover, Patty Arro from Polkadot SEA delivered a presentation on Polkadot’s core principles, focusing on scalability, interoperability, and governance. She emphasized the importance of these pillars in constructing a decentralized and interconnected Web3 ecosystem.

“The event concluded on a high note, with the attendees convinced of what Polkadot has to offer. A sense of optimism and excitement filled the room, leaving everyone eager to learn more, build impactful projects, and contribute to the Polkadot ecosystem,” the press release wrote.

Last year, there was an exclusive watch party in Bonifacio Global City, Manila, to experience Polkadot Decoded 2023, the annual flagship conference of Polkadot. Hosted at Brotzeit BGC, Shangri-La The Fort, attendees had the opportunity to network and delve deeper into the Polkadot ecosystem. Limited-edition merchandise, in the form of exclusive non-fungible tokens (NFTs), was distributed to participants.

What is Polkadot?

Polkadot, introduced by Gavin Wood, a co-founder of the Ethereum blockchain, operates as a layer-0 protocol. Its purpose is to interlink disparate blockchains like Ethereum and Bitcoin, enabling efficient and secure asset transfers between them.

Its native token, DOT, holds utility for governance and staking and is tradable on platforms like Coinbase.

The protocol achieves over 1,000 transactions per second via its primary components: the Relay Chain, Parachains, and Bridges. Validators play a pivotal role in Polkadot’s staking mechanism, ensuring network security and validating transactions through DOT staking. DOT holders have access to various staking options.
