By converting EVM bytecode into highly optimized native code, Somnia aims to achieve faster execution speeds. The inclusion of a compression and custom data ingestion layer helps reduce bandwidth requirements, surpassing traditional limits. Additionally, the use of cache-friendly Merkle trees helps decrease storage overhead. Along with enhancements to the infrastructure, Somnia is developing a series of omnichain protocols to facilitate seamless commerce and enhance the composability of metaverse experiences. These advancements are made possible by two key protocols: SOM0 (for asset interoperability and commercialization) and SOM1 (for composable virtual assets and experiences).
