First spotted by Ford Authority, American auto manufacturer Ford Motor Company has filed a patent outlining a unique AR-powered system that makes parking your vehicle an easier process. Filed on September 17th, 2021, and published on March 23rd, 2023, the patent details a system in which drivers use a remote control, key fob, or smartphone to park their vehicles remotely.

Based on the images provided, drivers would use one of the aforementioned devices to scan their vehicle using some form of AR technology before guiding it safely into the desired spot. As pointed out by Ford Authority, allowing drivers to control their vehicles from the outside could make parking a safer and easier process, especially when it comes to autonomous vehicles not yet capable of self-parking.
