La Chang, the CEO of TGL, a global logistic firm based in Australia, anchored the interview with the FTA director. Notably, Chang asked Zalai about FTA’s recent interaction with Ripple.

In the interview, Zalai first clarified he was not an expert on the whole idea of blockchain technology. However, he expressed his growing interest in the space due to his son’s investment in Ripple shares.

He humorously mentioned that his son preferred investing in Ripple rather than repaying debts to Mom and Dad, sparking his curiosity.

Ripple and FTA Collab In Horizon

Zalai explained that Ripple had approached FTA earlier, but they hesitated due to Ripple’s legal battles in the United States. However, the director mentioned that Ripple’s favorable outcome in the US court case has prompted a reconsideration of the earlier proposal.

“…Ripple explained their offerings to me and a group of major bank representatives, and because of the court case, we didn’t proceed. Now that the case is over, we will follow up with Ripple.”

Meanwhile, Zalai reiterated his lack of expertise in the payment technology landscape. Yet, he consented that Ripple’s solution could facilitate real-time payment transfers with robust security measures.

Moreover, the Australian director noted that major banks had shown interest in Ripple during a briefing he attended. Despite not fully comprehending the technology’s implications for FTA members, he recognized its potential significance.

In his words:

“At the briefing, there were a lot of representatives from the major banks that were very interested in it [Ripple]. So it’s a real thing. But how that translates to meaningful solutions for our members will only understand that in a bit more time.”

Besides, the host contributed to the conversation to enlighten Zalai about Ripple payment systems. Chang claimed the unique aspect of Ripple’s infrastructure was a centralized model compared to other decentralized blockchains.

Additionally, he stressed that Ripple desires regulation and integration with government systems to enhance payment efficiency. Moreover, the host noted the potential benefits of Ripple’s technology for cross-border payments for the Australian market.

Regarding FTA’s future steps with Ripple, Zalai mentioned that Ripple’s representatives had conducted a roadshow in Sydney, engaging with the local community.

Also, he stated FTA planned to follow up with information sessions to allow members to interact directly with Ripple representatives, ask questions, and explore potential collaborations.
