German fintech Serrala hires Hartmut Wagner as CEO

German financial automation and B2B payments software provider Serrala has appointed Hartmut Wagner as its new CEO.

Serrala appoints Hartmut Wagner as CEO

Wagner, who was previously CEO at software vendor Collenda, has also held senior leadership roles at Micro Focus, Exact and Hewlett Packard.

He will take over the role from current CEO Sven Lindemann on 15 August 2022 as the company doubles down on its global growth and innovation programme, which has seen the firm achieve $100 million in annual recurring revenue.

Lindemann, CEO since 2011, will remain “closely connected” with the company, Serrala says, as a significant minority shareholder and member of its supervisory board, advising on product strategy and mergers and acquisitions.

Lindemann says that what started out as a “family-owned, pure cash and treasury solutions provider”, Serrala now has a customer base that includes some of the largest corporations in the world.

As CEO, Wagner will be responsible for accelerating the firm’s growth amid an increasing focus on automation within financial services, leveraging his 25 years of global tech experience.
