Insightsoftware keeps up acquisition binge, buying Canadian analytics firm

RALEIGH – Insightsoftware, the Triangle-based “unicorn” with a $1 billion valuation, continues to make acquisitions following last year’s raising of $800 million.

The latest buy is Dundas Data Visualization, Inc.

The Toronto, Canada-based company focuses on business intelligence, analytics and data visualtion. It’s the 22nd deal for the company, which offers a growing variety of software solutions.

Financial terms of the latest deal over the last four years weren’t disclosed.

“In this day and age, there is no need for software vendors, or companies building internal applications, to lose focus by developing proprietary analytics tools. Starting with our acquisition of Logi Analytics last year, we have been strategically focused on expanding our embedded analytics offerings. We see a bright future for this segment of our business and even use these solutions in our own product development,” said Jim Triandiflou, CEO of insightsoftware, in a statement. “The acquisition of Dundas strengthens our embedded analytics capabilities, making it even easier for software development teams to plug prebuilt reporting and analytics into their software.”
