Israel’s Mossad Is Looking For A Crypto Expert: Report

Israel’s Mossad is looking to hire a crypto expert according to reports from the national intelligence agency that we are reading more about in today’s cryptocurrency news.

Local media reported that the state intelligence agency is on the hunt for professionals in the field of fintech and the reason is purported that it can use crypto for anonymous payments to agencies or purchasing equipment. The news was revealed by the leading Israeli media outlet Ynet and according to the translation, this is the first time that Israel’s Mossad is openly looking for a person who specializes in crypto.

Mossad is responsible for the intelligence collection, counter-terrorism, and covert operations in Israel so a move into crypto stands to reason. As per the job description, the agency is looking for a technological leader in the field of fintech and digital currencies with the position including initiating, planning, leading, and accompanying systems development activities and 3 years of experience in the world of fintech are required.

Other positions sought by the agency include a business consultant for what is defined as a “challenging and dynamic role” and these were not the only positions posted as per Ynet. Mossad also wants someone that can develop mechanical means for a job that includes “planning, developing, implementing, manufacturing, writing product portfolios, training, managing product methodology and performing mechanical integration for complex assemblies.”

They also look for a cyber-researcher who is an expert in the field of cameras. The use of crypto for anonymous payments is what most countries in the US have been trying to stifle. Bitcoin hit $45K again this month and this would not be the first option for this unless mixing services are also used. Monero would be a better fit since it has features built into the blockchain and the intelligence agency did not specify any of this or even what the reported interest or possible use of crypto will be for. Israel’s National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing ordered the confiscation of 84 crypto addresses considered to be linked with the terrorist organization Hamas. The Islamic terrorist group used plenty of cryptos like Tether, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and others with wallets in receipt of more than $7.7 million in crypto.
