Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK), the blockchain research company behind Cardano, has launched Marlowe, a toolset designed to allow anyone to build apps on Cardano.

IOHK, the blockchain research and technology company behind Cardano, has launched Marlowe, a collection of tools designed to make it easy for anyone to build apps on Cardano.

Marlowe features tools that simplify the process of creating apps on the Cardano platform. This development paves the way for anyone, regardless of their technical knowledge or background, to participate in building decentralized apps (dApps) on Cardano.

The Marlowe team recently celebrated the launch at an event held in Lisbon, Portugal. According to an announcement from the official Marlowe Twitter handle, the team and the Cardano community gathered to mark this significant milestone.

The latest development comes a month after the team behind Marlowe announced the introduction of the Marlowe tool set on the Cardano mainnet for early adopters. This allowed builders to test the infrastructure and provide feedback.

Features on Marlowe

Marlowe’s toolset is open-source, meaning the code is freely available for anyone to use and modify.

One of the critical focuses of Marlowe is security. To ensure that the apps built with Marlowe are safe and reliable, the toolset underwent a thorough security check performed by Tweag, a French-based software company. The Crypto Basic disclosed this in a previous report.

The team behind Marlowe designed the toolset with simplicity in mind. They aimed to streamline the processes of designing and implementing apps on Cardano.

With Marlowe, developers can use reusable templates, a contract-testing simulator, and robust APIs. Developers also have access to sample apps to pick from and the opportunity for an easy setup.

These features facilitate a streamlined and highly effective development process, enabling developers to center their attention on the progression of tasks and the rationality behind their concepts.

The Marlowe team is partnering with TxPipe, a Cardano-focused platform providing access to open-source tools. Together, they are working to provide easy access to MarloweRuntime through Demeter, a cloud-based infrastructure developed by TxPipe.

This collaboration eliminates the need for developers to set up and maintain their own infrastructure, making Marlowe even more user-friendly and accessible to a broader audience.
