Metaverse Hub With VR, AR and Immersive Tech Opens in India

Indian company Metaverse911 launched a Metaverse Experience Center to offer industry leaders a new way to engage with immersive tech like virtual and augmented reality – both crucial to creating a vibrant digital ecosystem in the metaverse.

Announcing the Center on Tuesday, Metaverse911 founder Rahul Sethi said the project, based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, aims to build a lively community of innovators, seekers and creators within the Indian metaverse and immersive technology spaces.

The firm plans to do this by allowing visitors to try out a range of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) hardware like the new Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3, Microsoft HoloLens, Vuzix Smart Glasses, and high-end simulators.

Dialogue and metaverse research

Metaverse911 also wants users, particularly brands and business people, to explore digital twin tech – a virtual replica of an existing physical object, system or building. The Center is being promoted as a hub for dialogue and research in metaverse technologies.

According to the company, the Metaverse Experience Center (MEC) comes equipped with immersive extended reality technology – a blend of VR, AR and MR – allowing visitors to indulge in a range of virtual worlds, from futuristic cities to manufacturing facilities.

“We want to provide a platform for industry leaders to explore solutions that can be implemented to solve their organizational challenges; ushering in a new era of digital innovation in the country,” Sethi said in a statement.

India is the most populous nation in the world, with a population of over 1.4 billion people. The World Economic Forum says that India is primed to help build the metaverse in a big way, thanks to its thriving tech sector and culture of entrepreneurship.

In a previous report, the WEF said the Indian government has been trying to foster a digital economy worth over $1 trillion, driven by a large and growing young population. But it also noted that plans to create “an all-encompassing virtual reality environment poses new challenges for regulators around the world.”

In February, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unveiled the Mumbai Metropolis Metaverse, offering virtual tours of the city’s infrastructure projects via an immersive VR experience. Private companies are also building their own metaverses.

Evolving landscape

Metaverse911 claims that the MEC is India’s first such experience cente catering to metaverse enthusiasts and business leaders in any practical way. The company plans to establish similar centers in other Indian cities as well as in Dubai and Singapore in future.

“In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, the metaverse represents the next frontier of human interaction and expression,” Rohit Verma, CEO of Metaverse911, said in the same statement.

“With the launch of the Metaverse Experience Center in Noida, we are proud to lead the charge in shaping the future of the immersive tech industry in the country.”
