NFT platform OpenSea sets impressive record of $1.5 in sales 

OpenSea, one of the most popular platforms for NFT asset sale, has already achieved an incredible $1 billion in trading volume. 

In a data released by DappRadar, OpenSea has topped $1.5 billion in trading volume over the last 30 days. In other words, the platform has achieved a 542% growth in volume. But one more amazing thing about this feat is that $2.42 billion of its trading volume has only occurred in the last 30 days. 

The data also revealed that OpenSea’s users have grown nearly 200% in the last month along with almost 150,000 unique wallet addresses. The platform’s 1.57 million transactions have generated an impressive $1.67 billion. 

NFT’s further rise

One of the major factors that keep NTFs’ popularity rise even further is the involvement of celebrities, high-profile people, and even giant businesses. 

CryptoPunk, for example, has attracted entrepreneur and NFT advocate Gary Vaynerchuck, who bought one for $3.76 million. Another CryptoPunk was purchased by a pseudonymous buyer for $5.45 million. 

And these purchases rank as the 4th and 3rd largest amounts ever to be spent on the highly valuable CryptoPunk NFT collection. 

NFTs in other industries

NFTs may always be associated with digital arts, but the presence of non-fungible-tokens is also rising in the music industry. Jay-Z and Eminem, two of the most prominent figures in the music realm, have also ventured into NFTs and have achieved success. 

NFTs have also been proven to have ideal applications in science as Tim-Berners Lee — the creator of the World Wide Web — decided to sell a minted version of the source code of the internet. 

In sports, more and more teams are venturing into NFT by introducing digital trading cards, and other digital sports-related collectibles.
