Northern Virginia Technology Council Announces 2022 NVTC Capital Cyber…

Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the trade association representing the National Capital Region’s technology community, today announced the winners of the fourth annual NVTC Capital Cyber Awards. Presented during this year’s NVTC Capital Cybersecurity Summit held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, the honorees represent the brightest and most cutting-edge organizations and government contractors that lead the region’s thriving cybersecurity industry.

“With the U.S. facing a reported cybersecurity personnel shortage of at least 700,000 workers, promotion and enthusiasm for the profession has never been more important,” said Jennifer Taylor, president and CEO of NVTC. “NVTC is proud to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the organizations and leaders who are innovating and mitigating risks across the National Capital Region. The work of our winners protects our schools, workplaces, and national infrastructures against cyber vulnerabilities and attacks.”

The NVTC Capital Cyber Award winners exhibit the dedication, innovation, and ability to advance cybersecurity technology and anticipate the threat of future cybercrimes. This year’s program received over 50 nominations from a wide range of organizations, from start-ups to early-stage growth, mature companies, and government contractors. A total of 21 finalists were recognized in two categories: Commercial Cyber Company of the Year and Cyber Government Contractor of the Year.

The panel of judges included David Etue, Nisos; James Leach, Telos Corporation; Essye Miller; Rich Sawchak, Hypori; and John Zangardi, Redhorse Corporation. Award recipients were announced at the conclusion of the Summit, followed by a celebratory networking reception. NVTC salutes the winners for their accomplishments and contributions to the region’s cybersecurity industry.
