Paraguay’s Deputy Tweets About Mega Bitcoin Surprise

Deputy of Paraguay, Carlos Antonio Rejala Helman, tweets that the Bitcoin bill will make its debut on July 14. The tweet says that both the country and the world are in for a ‘mega surprise’ — something ‘GIANT’.

Moreover, the tweet confirms that Paraguay’s Senator, Fernando Silva Facetti, will join the deputy in presenting the Bitcoin bill on July 14.

Since El Salvador’s announcement on making Bitcoin a legal tender at the Miami Bitcoin 2021 conference, other nations have also hinted at doing the same.

To name a few, other Latin American countries like Panama and Paraguay followed immediately. Hence, over the past month, Paraguay has been working non-stop to work on and define a Bitcoin bill.

Just a month ago, the Deputy hints about the possibility of making Bitcoin a legal tender in the country. Specifically, Helman tweets about ‘big project’. This tweet said that the project would involve Bitcoin and PayPal.

More so, the Deputy is inspired by El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele. Helman believes that embracing crypto will put Paraguay at the lead within the global arena.

True to his tweet from a month ago, Helman follows up with another tweet just three weeks ago. Here, he confirms that their Bitcoin proposal will meet the Legislation in July.

Now, the time has come for the Bitcoin bill to meet Paraguay’s Congress. If this bill goes through, Bitcoin will likely be made a legal tender in Paraguay. This will make the country the second in the world to recognize Bitcoin as a legal tender.

In addition, the Deputy has hinted at more possible news that may accompany the tenderization of Bitcoin. No doubt, the crypto community is eagerly waiting to hear from Paraguay’s government later this week.
