Phasmophobia Faces Indefinite Delay On PSVR 2

Phasmophobia is indefinitely delayed on consoles and PSVR 2 with Kinetic Games citing “unforeseen challenges” and a recent office fire.

Released on PC three years ago, Phasmophobia initially targeted an August launch for consoles and PSVR 2, which was later postponed to Halloween after a fire in the studio’s office building. In a new statement, Kinetic explains the team is still adapting to a new remote working setup and is establishing a new office but these factors combined with “unforeseen challenges in adapting the game for consoles” have affected launch plans.

Detailed through a Steam update, you can find the statement below:

Additionally, in preparation for the PlayStation VR2 launch, we have been diligently reviewing the game’s performance and optimizing it across all maps to ensure a seamless experience for all of our console players. In this regard, we had to rework Maple Lodge Campsite with a completely new layout. This decision, though time-consuming for our art team, is essential to provide the best possible gameplay experience.

While we had hoped to present you with a special launch alongside the Halloween event, the complexity of our current challenges means we need more time. We will keep you updated on our progress and provide a revised release date as soon as we have more information to share. We are working diligently to minimize the impact of this delay, and we want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support. We promise, when Phasmophobia arrives on consoles, it will be worth the wait.

A Halloween event is planned for October 26 which involves creating potions within a campsite cauldron after finding recipe cards. Completing this earns you a new ID card badge and trophy.

Phasmophobia is available now for PC VR in Steam Early Access.
