Philippine Blockchain Week 2023: A Deep Dive into Emerging Technologies

The excitement builds as the second edition of the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) approaches, promising a week-long extravaganza that will enthrall attendees. At the opulent Marriot Grand Ballroom within Newport World Resorts in Pasay City, PBW is gearing up to be a transformative experience.

Kicking off on September 18, PBW’s grand opening will be nothing short of spectacular, with a Metaverse gala showcasing the creations of renowned Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco. But that’s just the beginning. The natural substance of the event unfolds from September 19 to 21, with a lineup that includes panel discussions, keynote addresses, and Blockchain 101 sessions for students and local government officials.

Unlike its debut edition, which mainly explored the realms of NFTs and fintech, this year’s PBW is poised to enlighten attendees about cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain, metaverse, and artificial intelligence (AI). This shift in focus highlights the ever-evolving landscape of the tech world.

September 19 marks the official commencement of PBW 2023, with the Diplomatic Hall of Marriot’s Grand Ballroom becoming a hub of activity. The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will lead the charge with a Blockchain 101 session tailored for government officials. Simultaneously, the International Council for Small Businesses will host talks, and Tier One Entertainment will power the Nexus Fan gaming fair.

September 20 continues the educational journey with discussions from the Philippines’ Fintech Alliance and Analytics & Artificial Intelligence Association. DICT will conduct another Blockchain 101 session, this time targeting students in the National Capital Region. Meanwhile, Tier One Entertainment will keep the excitement alive with another round of the Nexus Fan Fair. In the evening, Bitskwela will host a Bull or Bear Debate, and the GMM MAP Ambassador Night will also unfold.

Day 3 of the conference is set to feature keynote and panel discussions by the Blockchain Council of the Philippines and the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) creativity summit and hackathon. The day will culminate with CNN’s Final Pitch on VC startup matchmaking. As the sun sets, PBW will introduce the first decentralized K-pop idol group, TripleS, with a thrilling mini-concert, followed by the event’s after-party.

PBW’s grand finale on September 22 will see DICT and the Blockchain Council of the Philippines unveiling the winners of the Philippine Block Rewards, wrapping up a week that promises to be nothing short of extraordinary.
