Newegg’s Quest 3 Black Friday deal gives you a Quest Store gift card with your purchase.

You’ll get a $15 gift card if you buy the $500 128GB model or a $25 gift card if you buy the $650 512GB model. You can use it to buy apps and games on the Quest Store and App Lab.

The Newegg deal stacks with Meta’s existing Quest 3 launch season deal, which gives you Asgard’s Wrath 2 free with any Quest 3 purchase and a free six months of the Quest+ subscription VR games service if you buy the 512GB model.

Meta is also offering a more significant offer on the older Quest 2, across all official retailers. It was recently cut to just $250 for the rest of the year, and for Black Friday weekend comes with $50 of credit too. That comes as Amazon Credit from Amazon or Quest Store credit for VR games from Meta Store.

We strongly recommend Quest 3 over Quest 2 if you want a headset this year, however.

The new Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset in Quest 3 has a more than twice as powerful GPU, which some developers are already using to achieve dramatically better “console quality” graphics. Meta seems to be planning to release a ‘Quest 3 Lite’ sometime next year, which could offer the new Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset in a headset priced similarly to Quest 2. If it’s successful, developers could put less focus on making their games look good and run well on Quest 2.

While Quest 3 is a lot more expensive than Quest 2, we described it as an “excellent VR headset” in our review, and we expect it will hold its own against any similarly priced competition for years to come.
