In Axie Infinity, every Axie is a digital asset that is unique, can be collected, or kept depending on the goals of the Axie’s owner. Of course the Axies can be used in battle to earn SLP.
Every Axie has its own rarity, in the past, the Sky Mavis team introduced the Axie Origin. These are the OG’s and according to a recent tweet from Jeff Zirlin, the co-founder of Axie Infinity, they have a unique and deeper upgrade path in the future development of the game and what is special about these Axies is they can be bred without any SLP included and they are capped at 4088. It was sold in February to April 2018.

Origin Axies and Mystic Axies

Aside from Axie Origins, there are also “Mystic” Axies that have unique and deeper upgrade paths in the future development of the game especially when they released the most awaited land gameplay.
Zirlin said Mystic’s total supply is 1283. However, they have plans to add 50 more when the Axie Origin version of the game is released.

Holiday Axies
(1) Holiday Axies – these are minted on Winter 2018 and 2019 when they had a special breeding event. Holiday Axies are capped, some are super rare while some are animated.
Japanese Axies
(2) Japanese Axies – these Axies were retired already after the Ronin wallet migration. Players used to be able to breed with special Japanese themed parts pre-Ronin. Right now, this can still be bought in an open marketplace for the purpose of collection.

MEO Axies
(3) MEO Axies – these come from the eggs sold from the Axie Egg Lab and they are mostly used to introduce new parts and they can also be bred without using any SLP.
Agamogenesis Axies
(4) Agamogenesis Axie – also known as “King of the Axies” and only three (3) exist. This is one of the most expensive types of Axie which can only be bought in the marketplace.
Currently, Axie Infinity already has more than 1 million daily active users (DAU) and this data already shows how attractive the game is for so many people worldwide despite the cost to buy and breed new Axies.
