Reactive Biosciences – formerly Boragen – raises $23.5M, more could be on the way

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Reactive Biosciences Inc., formerly called Boragen, Inc., has raised nearly $23.5 million in equity funding from ten investors, according to an SEC filing.

And the company could raise as much as $40 million, according to the filing.

According to the filing, the company began to raise funding in August 2021, with the date of first sale falling on August 5, 2021.

Julie Grant, the company’s CEO, signed the filing, which is dated September 12, 2022.

In 2020, the company, known as Boragen at the time, raised $2 million from 14 investors.

In 2017, Boragen was the first company selected for an equity investment by the Alexandria Center for AgTech – Research Triangle.

Investors participating in Boragen’s financing round at that time included the group’s investment syndicate partners Alexandria Venture Investments, ARCH Venture Partners, Bayer, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Elanco Animal Health, Flagship Pioneering, Hatteras Venture Partners, Mountain Group Capital, Pappas Capital and Syngenta Ventures.
